Sheetal Munshaw’s career spans over 24 years of work experience across the fields of journalism, entrepreneurship and tourism boards all under the broad spectrum of outbound travel.
Sheetal’s professional skill set and expertise are primarily marketing and communications, business development, brand positioning, inter personal relations, international relations, client management, multimedia campaigns, bespoke events, strategic partnerships with private &public sectors.
Sheetal is active in various business networks, has the agility and versatility to work across cultural environments, has strong work ethics and HR instincts that enable her to motivate and bring team members and business partners around a common goal and vision.
Her focus as a country head is to achieve robust targets and objectives around a small, focused and highly efficient team and strategy that enables a strong share of voice and presence and a leading positioning for France in a highly competitive market.
Her professional accomplishments include experiences as a professor at the Alliance Française, an Editor for an affiliate publication of Financial Express, her tryst with entrepreneurship as founder of Avant Garde Consultancy representing various esteemed travel brands and her 16 year association with Atout France and as Director for India for the last 10 years.
During her tenure with Atout France, tourists from India have grown exponentially to a whopping 700,000 pre- pandemic ie more than doubled in a 5-year span. France has received over 20 accolades since 2015. On a personal note, she has been the recipient of the award for Excellence in the field of Tourism on International Woman’s Day by ICUNR (Indian Council for UN Relations). Sheetal has also been enlisted in the TOP 100 Most Powerful of 2019 – awarded by LuxeBook in Dec 2019, TOP 50 Indian Luxury’s Most Powerful Women- awarded by Black Book in Dec 2016, TOP 50 Indian Luxury’s Most Powerful Women-awarded by Black Book in Dec 2015.
Sheetal is honoured to be a special invitee to the CCEF – Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur network as well as the Governing Council of the Indo French Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Advisory Board for Travel Biz Monitor, leading B2B magazine. Sheetal is also Tourism and Hospitality committee Co-Chair at The Council of EU Chambers of Commerce in India and a guest lecturer at Jaihind’s Department of the Bachelor of Vocations Tourism
Her interests, other than France and the French language of course, include oenology, Sheetal has pursued sommellerie courses with the Cape Wine Academy, WSET (LEVEL 2)and the CAFA BORDEAUX school, dance – she has been a Bharatanatyam dancer and a salsa amateur, She is passionate about music, travelling, cooking, baking and has a keen interest in the luxury industry.
