Dian Harcovecchio (31) is a theatre and production professional from Cape Town, South Africa, with more than a decade of experience across over 300 productions, events, and festivals internationally. His expertise spans Production and Stage Management, Technical Operations, Logistics, and Props, making him a versatile and highly experienced member of any production team.
Over the course of his career, Dian has collaborated with leading companies including Cape Town Opera, Cape Town City Ballet, David Ian Productions, and Showtime Management. His experience ranges from stage management and touring operations to festival technical coordination, supported by mentorship from respected industry professionals including Juanita van Wyk, Merle Gideon, and Carryn Wolf.
Dian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theatre Practice (NQF Level 6) from the Artscape Technical Training Academy in Cape Town, endorsed by the Drama Department at Stellenbosch University.
Since completing his training in 2014, Dian has worked on a wide range of productions and large-scale events, including serving as Deputy Stage Manager on the international China tour of Chicago with David Ian Productions.
He currently works with Shy Music as Casting Director and Production Manager, overseeing project coordination, artist management, and production operations with a strong focus on professionalism, communication, and efficient execution. Following the successful Botswana tour of Calling Us Home, Dian is now focused on expanding the production through a schools touring initiative while further developing its reach across Africa. He also serves as Resident Stage Manager for Darkroom Contemporary.
Beyond his production work, Dian is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness within the entertainment industry, supporting conversations around wellbeing in the often demanding environment of live performance and touring.
Among the productions that have had the greatest impact on his career is Santa Gamka, produced by Marlo Minnaar.
