Jack Morton Worldwide

David heads up Jack Morton’s public events group and has led the project and creative direction of some of the most highly acclaimed public events around the world.

 

David led the teams responsible for the Hong Kong Handover & Farewell and the ceremonies that opened and closed the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games, the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games. He also served as creative and production consultant to Zhang Yimou and the Beijing Organizing Committee of the 2008 Olympic Games.

 

More recently he was the Artistic Director for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the FIFA 2009 Confederations Cup, South Africa and the FIFA 2010 World Cup, South Africa.

 

Closer to (his) home, since 2007 David has also been the Artistic Director for the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve Celebrations centered on the London Eye and the River Thames—witnessed live by over 300,000 people and with a domestic viewership in excess of 12 million.

 

Last summer David served as Head of Ceremonies and Artistic Director for the highly acclaimed Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
