Basant has been with the Jagran group for the last 12 years. Under him, brand Dainik Jagran has emerged as the most awarded newspaper brand in India for a range of consumer engagement initiatives with several award wins at INMA, WAN IFRA, Effies, Abbys, INK, ACEF, and WOW.
In his earlier stint with the Media Planning side of the business, Basant has worked at agencies like Ogilvy, Mudra, Mindshare, and Madison, where he has planned and bought media for leading brands across diverse categories ranging from Chocolates to Automobiles.
An alumnus of the Shri Ram College of Commerce and a first batch pass out of MICA, he has conducted numerous workshops for working professionals and has taught Media Management at MICA for over 10 years, as a visiting faculty.
